Lessons On Female Mechanics In Nigeria

The work of a mechanic which is considered to be a "male-only" job seems to be taking turns.
Women are effortlessly taking the baton in this sphere. Nigeria's first female motor vehicle mechanic, Sandra Aguebor said "automobile mechanic was one of the most gainful and easiest jobs in the world". She said this contrary to the erroneous popular perception, women were better suited to technical work due to their natural abilities to pay attention to details.

Auto mechanics job does not stop you from being beautiful; it does not stop you from being a mother, neither does it stop you from being a wife. The dirty finger is your wealth, your voice and the future. It is somehow surprising for people when they see female mechanics, there is always shock the first-time people hear about your profession, there is always request to explain 'how come?'. (as if there must be an incredible backstory to your choice) or the awesomeness when people gape at them in shock as they change brake pads or balance wheels.

The old saying goes "skills change lives", there is transformation from nowhere to somewhere, giving hope to the hopeless. The patriarchal system does not limit women from getting empowered, we have entrepreneurs who are confident in this mechanical world. They have broken the cliché and changing lives with what they do.
It is always surprising for people to find out that being a mechanic is a lot of fun and that some people actually enjoy being smudged with oil and playing around with bolts and screws.

When the customers arrive with their cars, they listen to the customer's complaints, diagnoses the problem, assesses what it will take to fix the problem, creates a work order, makes a list of parts required, and prices the job. Then, they call the customer for permission to proceed. Once permission is granted, they order the parts, do the repairs, and makes sure the problem has been resolved by taking the car on a test drive. They also do banking and other administrative tasks for the owner. They wear a uniform shirt and pants on the job. If you're thinking of going into the auto trade, get as much training as you can. Never stop learning. Any woman can do this. You don't have to be physically strong, there are lots of tools you can use to lift things that are too heavy.

There's a lot of misunderstanding in the industry. People consider mechanics a rip-off.
