Types Of Automobile Engines

Types of Engine

I.C. Internal Combustion Engine.
Combustion of fuel take place inside the engine. When the fuel burns inside the engine cylinder, It generates a high temperature and pressure. The high pressure forces is exerted on the piston which used to rotate the wheels of the vehicle. In these engunes we can use only gases and high volatile fuel like petrol, diesel. These engines are generally used in automobile industries, generation of electric power etc.

E.C. External Combustion Engine.

The Difference Between Economy, Standard and Premium Brake Rotors

Good brakes are essential for safe driving. One of the key components in a disc brake system is the rotor. When the brakes are applied, the calipers squeeze the pads against the rotor to create friction and heat. This converts the kinetic energy of motion into thermal energy (heat), which the ro... The engine output was 0.75 hp (0.55 kW). Details included an automatic intake slide, a controlled exhaust valve, high-voltage electrical vibrator ignition with spark plug, and water/thermo siphon evaporation cooling.

Brake Noise Solution

A large number of brake noise complaints are metal-on-metal or squeak-related to the brake pad. A common problem in automobile, the worn pads contacting the rotor causes the grinding noise.

Easier to prevent than to fix is brake squeaking which occurs after servicing. The location of the brakes are in a hostile environment with lots of rust and corrosion.
Uneven wear and restricted movement should be noticed, it means the load isn't evenly distributed the pads might be hanging up. Continue the system inspection by opening the bleeder valve and push back the piston on the calipers. Use a C-clamp between the outer pad and the... Read more

Disc Brakes and Types.

Disc Brakes.

The rotor (disc) is a one-piece casting with cooling fins between the two braking surfaces. This enables air to circulate between the braking surfaces making them less sensitive to heat buildup and more resistant to fade. Dirt and water do not affect braking action since contaminants are thrown off by the centrifugal action of the rotor (disc) or scrapped off by the pads. All disc brakes are inherently self-adjusting.

There are 3 general types of disc brake:
- A fixed caliper: It uses one or two pistons mounted on each side of the rotor ( in each side of the caliper). The caliper is mounted rigidly and ... Read more
